places of interest. Went up to "Childs" Restaurant and got a feed. That was what interested me mostly at the time. From New Orleans the country was more interesting. At every southern town we stopped we would hear "Whar yo all from" or something like that. Went thru Mobile, Montgomery, Spartansburg and a lot of other good sized places that I have forgotten their names. At every place we stopped the Red Cross met us at the train with peaches, apples, chewing gum, smokes, matches, postcards allready stamped and coffee and sandwiches. Of course the fare varied at every place but they gave us something at nearly every place.
