we have stayed in one place since coming across. First we were at Cherbourg for a couple of days, then went to Bordeaux or rather eighteen miles southwest for three weeks. Then we spent nearly a week at Le Mons where we were classified and sent on toward the front. But the armistice was signed while we were on the way. We were to have joined the 29th Division at Nancy and from there go on to take part in the capture of Metz. Of course we realize we are lucky not to have been in the fighting but nevertheless I am not satisfied. If I could have been there just
