Saving...
us a Jeep ride every night. The food and clothing situation is peculiar. We aren't allowed to eat anywhere but at our own mess, nor is the army. There is a list of things we may buy, but most we can't. Prices are high on everything but wine and perfume. I've bought some perfume and may send it home when I get "put," if ever. I'm rooming with two nice girls, both staff aides, named Mary Jackson and Mary Shaw. We have a beautiful private bath, soft beds and a crystal chandelier. The price of the room in peacetime is above ten dollars a day with meals. Whoops! Time to write some post cards now. Did I say we, the two Marys and I, will probably go over to Versailles tomorrow or Sunday? It depends on the weather, which has been sunny and very warm so far. This next week should be most interesting. I probably can't tell you exactly where I am, but will give you my APO as soon as I have one. Love, Helen
