Saving...
I came we have had the craziest weather. It snows in big gobs and then shines like anything and then rains cats and dogs. I will be running a craft shop here in the Red Cross building at the hospital afternoons and one I am developing at the chateau for rehabilitation patients evenings. The patients are almost all combat fatigue, concussion and shock cases and I find them very good to work with. Saturday night four of us went to the detachment dance and had a swell time. We were belles of the ball, and the men swore they were all going to write home about how much they liked dancing with us and visiting with us. They get tired of girls they can't talk to no matter how pretty, and the Belgian girls are lovely. Many came with their mothers, or grandmothers or brothers. I wrote to Jimmy Galbraith because I think he is near here. I hope so. We are going on a "scrounging" expedition for material Wednesday. We'll probably go to Brussels, Rheims and several other places. That is a refined term for looting. Tomorrow is my day off. If it is nice I want to explore around a little. Love, Helen
