Belgium May 6, 1945 Dear Mother, Time has skipped by, but I've been so involved in setting up the craft programs one here and one at the rehabilitation chateau that there hasn't been any to spare. It is interesting but I have such a temporary feeling about it all that I can't enter in with everything I have as I did a year ago. I guess that much of yourself you can put in only once, and it is probably just as well. There are hundreds of interesting things, but I don't think I can discuss them yet. Lorette Brinigar and I went to Liege Wednesday to collect our supplies from the warehouse and incidentally do some "scrounging" at a salvage dump and some shopping in the department stores. We had good luck. Most things are plentiful much more so than in England. Thursday and Friday I got tools divided and things over at the chateau so I could start. I have a craft shop here 1-4:30 and one there 6-8:30 every day but Saturday and Sunday. One of the favorite crafts is sanding down and painting little wooden shoes.
