Saving...
I still need Nescafe and other eats. I could have brought my bicycle, I think, but didn't know how I would and so I sold it. One of the nurses bought it; I was so fond of it. I didn't know where I was to be till I got to Paris and got my new assignment. It could have been anywhere on the continent. This is lovely scenery and I think I'll like it as I get to know more local people. Thank God for my French! Without it these poor girls are all at sea. Yes, I'm sure the boxes will come eventually. You might save the New Yorker and only the ones of the others that have some special continued story, etc. [illegible] No, George's packages came after I left. I was in London a week and Paris a week, you see. Yes, I wrote Grace about the birthday box. I'd love some black walnuts. I'm going to Paris this weekend, I think and may go by air. No, we came over by boat. A very nice crossing. I'll look up Jack & the French family if I can. Also see Herb again. No one takes my place. They get a new staff aide fresh from the states. I bet Buster's [note between lines: a baby robin we raised] alive. Don't they live 20 years or so? Yes, I'd like Forever Amber.
