Since he had been imprisoned by the Germans for months and had had a pretty bad time, it must be quite a satisfaction. He told some interesting things as did Mme. Houis, but time is too short now to retell them. Anyway, Mme. and her family lived on carrots and carrot tops for two whole winters, not even potatos! Girard took me to the Metro about midnight and I went home. Sunday I slept late, had dinner and Herb called for me about two. We took the Metro way out to Porte [Loree?] out by [Vincennes?] and went to the zoo. It was a grand day and lots of fun. We went back to Seine base HQ and picked up my sleeper reservations, and then had dinner at my restaurant. Then I went to the train. I had a swell berth (lower) on the Paris-Brussels fast train and slept well, getting in about 8:30 in the morning. It took most of the day to get home by train from Brussels, but it was fun too, as I met two of our officer patients and a sergeant who treated us all to an illegal, but excellent,
