We seem to be hungry all the time and with four in the room we consume large quantities. I was talking to a man from Grinnell today. Every once in a while I meet someone, but so far no one I know well. No, Billy [Rom?] is OK yet as far as I know. He was the one who had the decided ideas on life. From my experience I'd say he was far from unique. On the sleepers and so forth one wants to be sure to fasten the chain as it gets many a trial during the night. Freddy is in Belgium, I suppose. If I have time I'll check through his last address. I will send the lunch cloths back with some other things, also some of the crochet [hooks? or books?]. No, it's quite all right to continue sending things, as they seem to come OK. Are you sure you need a request now? What happened to Mrs. Smith? Both Herb & I wonder.
