Saving...
our nurses and their dates. We had a silly sort of time, with an interminable story going on and innumerable toasts being proposed. About midnight the three of us got hungry and left the others and their story and got a big meal at the patients' mess hall. Then I went home. Tuesday afternoon Lucy and I took the weapons carrier & a driver and went over to Florennes to the B-26 bomber base & got plexiglass. It took all afternoon as we had to stop and visit all the people we knew and Lucy was determined to get back her camera from a fellow she had been going with. We had to wait for him to get out of the shower, but finally we got the camera & came home. It just poured as we reached the hospital drive and the rain swept across the car in sheets. We were glad we hadn't delayed any longer. Esther & I are going to Brussels Sunday night and come back Tuesday noon. I hope we have good weather. Love, Helen
