Ciney, Belgium June 19, 1945 Dear Mother, I got a bit tired of air mail paper so got this in Brussels to break the monotony. Esther and I had a rather nice trip, although she is having a difficult time just now and isn't very peppy. She was very much in love with a man in her old unit and thought everything was set for marrying him eventually. Since she came, however, he phoned that he was going to the Pacific and, worse yet, he had met an old girl friend and decided that she was the one. It's too bad, as Esther is a nice girl. We went in to Brussels Sunday morning. Naomi and I went to the detachment (E.M.) dance Saturday night and as usual had a very good time and a real workout dancing.
