Ciney, Belgium June 21, 1945 Dear Mother, I have three letters, 59, 60 & 61, to answer and package 51 which came this afternoon. It is grand. We have already made inroads on the pecan roll. It is a great favorite and comes in perfect shape. Naomi and I are specially pleased with the ripe olive spread, too. We seem to be death on ripe olives. The fig bars and raisins are very nice and will pep up our evening snacks. I think I'll send Mme. Houis the can of hot chocolate, as my supply is pretty big. You might hold off for a while on it now. Here are some things I do need and would like to have when you can get them in. More handcream - Sofskin is very good Quite a bit of rinse - Med. brown & golden brown (You can put them together in one package) A pair of black pumps with toes in. Size 7B A pair of blue satin bedroom slippers with leather soles (like those I had you send) Dried fruit & cream rouge Bonfire lipstick [note in margin: I'll write a sep. sheet for these & they don't take points] I'm going to Liege tomorrow on a truck to get the two weeks' supplies. We are getting another hundred wooden shoes and they will go like hot cakes. Today I packed a nice wooden
