Ciney, Belgium June 29, 1945 Dear Mother, I got your letters 64 and 65 today, and have some pictures to send so I'll use a bit of my new Paris stationery. Esther and I have had a quiet evening reading, sewing and drinking tea. Naomi and Lucy seem to be feeling quite emotional over the departure of the last patients tomorrow morning and so have gone over to the club to drink a bottle of champagne. I hope them consume it there, as I'm not in the mood. I had a nice letter from Joyce Gale today. She is working with North Atlantic area of Red Cross for a time, interviewing overseas candidates. Her mother is very ill, and she couldn't bear to leave her when her month's time was up. She says she can go over again Nov 1st of Jan 1st if things are settled by then. I don't think George had TB, unless
