Juan les Pins, Frances July 15, 1945 11:30 PM Dear Mother, This is heaven! A soft, soft bed in a room all to myself; a tiled bathroom ditto, with a tub big enough for the Dioness; a window overlooking a terrace where a perfect dance orchestra is playing, lanterns hung in the trees lighting up the foliage, and beyond, the moonlight on the Mediterranean. Now when I get rested and acquainted a bit I know I'll love it. This is the Army officers' rest center just past Cannes, really a suburb and the hotel, the Provencal, is one I'd never be able to afford taken the normal way. I'll be here a couple of weeks and then go
