back to Paris (by air, I hope) for reassignment. I hope I can get to Germany right away but may have to stay in Belgium or France a while. Naomi and JIm Grady may get down here the middle or end of next week, and possibly Johnny (Snyder). That would be just too much, though, so I shan't even think of it. I washed my hair tonight as it was just stiff with soot from the train ride. I left Paris yesterday about 5:00. The Bastille Day celebration was really something. I came in from Belgium by ambulance Friday, stayed Friday night at the Miami Hotel, out by the Etoile and then luckily got a jeep ride to the train at the Gare de Lyon. I stored my locker, bedroll & duffle bag in the warehouse till I know where I'll be & when. I didn't have time to call Herb or the Houis, but did get back my wrist watch all repaired perfectly. There's a floor show on the dance floor below just now; I wish I hadn't had so much to do and could have seen it. Someone is playing a lovely violin solo. The orchestra is French, and they
