Saving...
we went to the Martinez where a cocktail dance was in progress. I had a Tom Collins or so & we danced. Incidentally, I haven't been with a poor dancer yet, & they all rave about my dancing till it is embarrassing. About 7:30 we met a Maj. Pearson, an air corps friend of Col. Booth's & he asked us to dinner at the Martinez. We had a lovely meal. There was a floor show on a raising floor, we danced & I got a corsage. (All the while I was still in my on the way to swim garb of shirt & skirt & white oxfords.) We went out on the terrace to dance about ten, but after I had a dance with the Major, Col. Booth & I walked along the beach & then came out to the Provençal. It was crowded, so we went to another nurse's hotel up the hill & had refreshments & danced till 1. We were going swimming by moonlight, but found too many other people had the same idea, so called it a day. It's 3 o'clock now and I must get to bed. I'm meeting him at Eden Rock to swim in the morning, having lunch at the Carleton at noon & going sail boating in the afternoon. I don't know that I'm so lonesome after all! Love, Helen
