Saving...
furniture with thick round glass table tops, huge divans, etc. Then about 8:30 we had an elaborate dinner with flowers & candles. We had soup, roast chicken, lattice potatos, corn fritters, asparagus with Hollandaise sauce, chocolate souffle with whipped cream & then coffee on the terrace. There were two butlers serving, one on each side of the table & they served all the ladies first. About 10 o'clock we got in the generals cars & we went to the Belles Rives to dance. We had several tables pushed together. Besides dancing with Jim, I danced with the general, his aide (an attractive Southern lieut), one of the captains & one of the colonels. About 1 o'clock Jim took me home because I wanted to pack. He's a nice fellow & a good dancer. Not very exciting, though. Heavens, are we getting particular! Love, Helen P.S. If it isn't good flying weather I'm stuck here for a day or so. I don't mind!
