a very pleasant hour's ride we landed at the Paris field of [Villacoublay?]. The five officers who were coming on leave here helped me with my baggage (what do I mean helped? They carried it!) so it didn't matter that the handle was off the suitcase. We cleared security and then got a bus in to Seine base H.Q. I left my stuff there, got a billet at the [Noailles?] hotel, in the general region of the de [Matu?] and only about two blocks from the Opera & our mess hall. Then I went up to headquarter & got an appointment for 3 tomorrow to talk about an assignment. I got my mail and found your 69 & 70, one from Mary, a card from Polly Wilcox, a note from Jack Darth, a whitefish Bay paper, a cub news, & a thank you note from a girl I sent patterns to. I'm glad the box came. There are several others on the way. Give Mary the bracelet I had for myself. There is another in the next box for me. Also when the next box comes you'll find some extra napkin rings to use as you want. I think
