Saving...
enlisted men. We can go to Rouen shopping any afternoon, or go horseback riding. Tomorrow we may get to go ocean swimming up near Le Havre. (We did & it was crazy the beach (?) was full of metal etc.) In some ways you feel as though you were in a concentration camp, there are so many armed guards posted to keep prowlers out of our area. The tent flaps are rolled up and as I lie here on my cot I can see three guards. I got caught in the barbed wire fence last night and one had to get me out. Kay & I got coffee & doughnuts at the R.C & brought them over for the nurses about ten o'clock. It was a cool evening, so we really enjoyed it. I'm sending two wooden boxes home today with extra stuff in them. I'll come with only my suitcase & Nursette bag, as my locker & bedroll will go with the unit's luggage (went to Kansas City, I think) to the Pacific coast. Sorry I can't have it all there to discard, replace & renovate. Love, Helen
