Saving...
for getting home as soon as we had expected. I may show up in early September or not for months yet. I'll be disappointed if we don't make it soon now, but there's nothing to be done about it and I guess there will be plenty of fun along the way. The beach is very colorful, with lots of big umbrellas and little tents. The children are precious. A sergeant and I spent the first afternoon I was here on the beach playing with Jean-Poire, aged 11 months. He had two teeth and a starched white hat. There are about 41 of our nurses here now and we appreciate the good beds, hot baths and sheets and pillows. At Twenty Grand we have a cot & 6 army blankets and that is all. And not bad at that. Time for a nap now. Love, Helen P.S. My salary went up to $200. a month or so ago & I get the extra here, so your checks will continue the same. I also get full maintenance.
