was thirty-five, had been in France a lot before the war, had traveled all over, liked to fish, ride, etc. (Captain Herbert Doell)
I danced with him; he was very good but very fancy and not at all like an American dancer. We got along very well, so we were set for the evening. A couple of other officers came up to take care of Marie & Kay. 
After the dance we strolled on the beach & I came in about two thirty. 
We had breakfast together Friday morning. Then Kay & I went shopping with a couple of officers. I had lunch with Capt Doell again, & then took a nap instead of going to the beach. I met him at the bar before dinner & then had dinner with him; we went to a movie 7:30 - 9:30 and then another dance. 
This morning I had breakfast with him again, lunch, & we all came home by truck because
