There is an awful lot of sickness in the Co. Joe Glass from Independence was carried out on a stretcher last night and two others fell over at retreat tonight I don't know just what is the matter but think it is the heat. I am awful sorry that I couldent get off for thrashing but it is utterly impossible. You don't know how I feel for you in your trouble and would do any thing I could to help you but I cant possibly get off now. I washed my pants tonight and am sitting in my underwear. Oh hell one of the boys came up and said there is another
