one place we were we done a lot of washing in a little creek and the soap in the water killed several nice fish. there is one thing I miss over here and that is candy. they issue us tobacco and you can buy cigaretts and chewing tobacco cheaper than you can in the states at the Y. but no candy I paid uno franc this morning for a bar of French candy which is about twenty cents in our money and it was mostly figs and nuts. Send my sweater and socks if they will let you. and I think you can find out from the red cross and say mother you and
