Dear Mother,
I'll start this while I'm waiting for Betty to come. Then we are going to dinner at Hogates (steamed clams, remember?) Last night she took me to a fried chicken place & then we went to see the movie "San Antonio," in technicolor. Pretty, but why don't they get an alternative plot? I got all my appointments out of the way yesterday. They want me to take the 5 shots I need while at Langley field, & I can't get my uniforms till I get back to clear, either. I expect I'll be there till the 15th of Jan, at least, so why not write there till about then & then change to Am. Red Cross, 930 H Street, NW Washington. They hope to get us "sailed" by the end of Jan. Betty came just then & we went to Hogates & had a swell dinner (no steamed clams, but lobster). Then we went to see Fred Astaire in
