Saving...
today so you can make return of 1945 taxes. If not enough money has come by the time it is due, can't you cash one or two of my bonds? I'm also enclosing the allotment agreement I made out today. Tax will be deducted till I leave the country. Then you are to get $115. a month, or half of that every 2 weeks, of that I want you to use $15 a month and put $100. in savings, postal savings or bonds as you want. If you need more at any time, use it. I'll be getting $110. a month plus full maintenance there, which should be plenty. You should get the first check about Feb 1st, but it will have all the tax out of it, so will be only $42.10. We are to leave here the 26th. We have Pullman reservations to West Palm Beach & will be there several days before we go to Panama. How tough! It is lyon a 7 hour plane ride and it will be nice to be that near the country, won't it? Red Cross will notify you by telegraph when I arrive in Panama & I'll phone you if I can. I don't know about that. I'll also try to phone before I leave here,
