maybe the evening of the 25th, if the strike is over. It is still on here, you know. Tonight I'm having dinner with several of the girls from Langley Field, [Jess?], Phyllis & Libby, I guess. My new roommate is janet [Schwartman?], whom I knew in Basic Rec. class & who has been in China, Burma & India. She's on her way to ETO to join her husband, who's in R.C. there. She knew Dorothy Ward in India. We've had some swell visits. Tomorrow I'm shopping a little & having dinner with Betty Hass. I got her some shoes for 60 [cents] at salvage (R.C.) today. Also got me a Palm Beach suit for $1.85. Like the one you like. Monday I'm having a shot or so & going to Shirley Briggs' apartment for dinner. Tuesday I'm lunching with Julia downtown. Wed. I'm lunching with Don at the Pentagon when I go to get my army identification card. I had a nice time at Don's house Tuesday night. I guess I told you. I'm not buying much, but I can't see any reason for going down there for a year poorly equipped for
