Fort Davis, CZ Feb. 1, 1946 Dear Mother, To continue, at long last: We had a meeting to meet the new Field Supervisor in Quarry Heights, near the field where we landed and Panama City, where we stayed Tues. night. The meeting was 2 - 3:30 in the officers' club and Headquarters there. Then Helen Hutt & I took the train at Balboa Heights (the Canal Zone city corresponding to Panama City. It was a nice train & it took us 1-1/2 hrs to reach [Gatin?], where we got off because it was the nearest station to Ft Davis. Caroline Gay, the girl whose place Helen Hutt is taking met us with our station wagon & took us about 4 miles to Ft Davis. It is a lovely post, all white, large houses with overhanging tile roofs. Our quarters, for the 2 of us has the following space: Two large bedrooms with dry closets. A kitchen, fully equipped with electric refrigerator, stove, etc. Nice tiled bath with shower. A huge room from front to back of the house,
