Thursday. Feb 8. 1945 Dear Helen - Good! letter 77 written Jan 21st came today. Sounds as tho my letters were just as slow going as yours. Seems as tho boxes should be reaching you more often. Grace Allen came over and spent the afternoon with me and brought your blouse all done but sewing on the buttons, which job she did while here. Four dollars for the making and I think she did a beautiful job - There is enough cloth for another or for a slip if you'd rather have it - I'll wait till I hear from you about it before having her do anything with it - She said if you wanted a blouse to try on this and tell me of any changes you want made - and if you'd like a yoke in the back next time - Do you have a machine there in your recreation hall? My what a lot of extra work that library makes for you - How is it going by now? What made your trip back from London slow? or can't you say yet? Your new "battledress" sounds interesting - I do hope all your unusual clothes won't be worn out before I have a chance to see them. Where does Nellie live? England or U.S.? I'll watch for your R.C. letter in our papers. I don't get the press-Citizen this time Kosers are away but will ask Betty to watch for it. There are now 10 boxes on the way to you that you haven't mentioned yet besides No. 17 which we'll have to give up as lost I presume. There are dried apricots in No. 32 and I'll get other dried fruit next week to put in later boxes - I've found I like Saltine Crackers very much so put some in box 34 which I mailed Tue. Betty Schramm phoned yesterday and said Mrs. English had had her appendix out a week or more ago and was now back home - I wrote her a card, then when Gretchen
