Saving...
Got your room all done now except doing something about your lamp shade. Worked out doors all morning - house dress & no jacket. I uncovered the strawberries & burned the old "borer filled" corn (stalks?) - got 1-1/3 rows weeded & fertilized and stray plants transplanted out of the packs - Singed my eyebrows quite a bit - they feel fuzzy. I had hoped to work out all day & finish the strawberries but by the time I had eaten lunch and rested a half hour, the sun was gone and the wind had come up and there were occasional spatters of rain - So I did odd jobs inside - Betty Schramm phoned - sent you her love - Said something about did I get an announcement today - but wouldn't explain as she said I'd probably get one tomorrow - I'll bet it is the Harshburger calf that has arrived - do you remember the cards we got out when Metzie had her family? You'd go up with the flashlight and there'd be another kitten and we'd have to add another little card. Leo sent the office insurance policy today - I had him cut it down some - now have 500 on the building and 100 on contents - the microscope is about all in there that is worth much - tho if I had the five or six bookcases - library table & chairs down here I could sell them for a pretty good price now. I turned the water on in the south faucet and will drain the pool the first nice day we have - I'll refill it from the basement hot water tank as I did last year then I can get the fish out early - Well 34 years ago tonight I didn't have you where I could see you but 34 years ago tomorrow night I did. I'm glad I don't have to live all those years over again even tho I might do a better job in a second trip or it might be worse! - Oh, darn I've missed Information Please - Good Night and All My love to You Mother (I think I forgot to number the letter I mailed you this morning.)
