Saving...
Oct 8, 1944 Italy Dear Dad, Mom & Grandmother: Got a paper tonight mailed August twentieth so I've been brushing up on some very recent Fayette County news, seemed good anyhow and I enjoyed it. The newspapers I think are held up until they get a whole back load of them and their sent. Our lights went out in air living quarters tonight so I had to come over to the engineering shack. Must check the line for a short tomorrow for I sure missed the lights. We have a small portable unit which furnishes the juice. While walking over I heard a flock of wild ducks flying over, certainly didnt expect to hear any over here and it reminded me of a lot of fall nights at home when I've heard them. Dont know where they were migrating but it wasnt a bad idea. Voted and mailed my ballot tonight hope it does some good, I was glad for the chance to vote anyhow. Doesnt seem so far from home when you can vote just like you were at home.
