Saving...
and my arm swelled up a little but it didn't scab over so I guess it didn't take. Boy that's one thing that comes up regularly in the army, they never forget to inoculate vaccinate and shoot you at the slightest provocation, guess it is a good thing tho for the army has very little disease and sickness. I'm going to the show tonight its "Home in Indiana" and I remember your saying you folks enjoyed it. Haven't seen a movie in ages but there shouldn't be anything else to do tonight. The last letter I got from you was written the ninth and you said there had been no frost yet, that's certainly wonderful for it's giving the corn a chance to fully mature even tho the season was backward. Glad Anton got his silo filled, it seems awfully late in the year for that but expect the wet weather has kept the foliage on the corn green longer. Yes we get the ball game returns but didn't get to hear them. I rather hoped the other team would win for they've never been on top but I know Dad favored the Cards. I took a chance on a ball pool one day and won eighteen dollars. That's something I seldom do but the fellows only had one chance left and wanted to get rid of it so I took it. Golly it sounds like I'm going to get a lot of Christmas packages, sure hope the one with the licorice gets here. Don't go to a lot of trouble for me, I know my Christmas shopping isn't going to amount to much over here. Wish I could find something to send you. It's about time for chow so I'll quit - Love Johnny
