Saving...
darn thing got away. Reckon the mice and rats will bother us all winter, should have a cat. Got the cross word puzzles you sent don't know when I'll work them but am glad to have them and if I have a chance I'll try to see if I've forgotten the English language living over here with the Italians. Tonight I got a letter from you written the second of this month and day before yesterday I got one written the twelth so that's the way my mail comes thru. They are having the formal dedication of the new chapel this week and I plan to go. It's a very nice building and the chaplain has it filled every Sunday as yet I haven't been since they've moved out of the tent but if the work kind of slows up I will start going more regularly. We still don't have our shower building constructed. Don't know when it will get done, guess I can keep clean out of a helmet tho. Seems as tho everyone talks big and spits hard but in the end you just get done what you do yourself. The more I see of the world the more I think that's the best policy, don't plan or rely on anything you aren't in a position to accomplish yourself. I'll put in another snap shot I got when Ralph Pixler was over here. If you want to you can give his mother the other one like it. This is an enlargement of the other one. Maybe she'd by shocked at the picture tho - Love Johnny
