Saving...
November 7, 1944 Italy Dear Dad & Mom: Yesterday I got seven letters, some very recent and others written in September. Got the one you wrote the twenty eighth with the notice about Bud in it. I was terribly shocked and don't know when I've felt worse about anything. I'm just hoping they get some news it is a mistake as those things do happen and records can so easily be mixed at first, I must write to Adeline but as you said there is so little to say that can help. Expect Grandmother has returned home by now from the last letters I've received she was all ready and waiting. Do hope she stands the trip well and you have nice weather for your end of it. This is the big election day and tomorrow will know how things are for another four years. I do hope for a change but am not sure will get it or how much of an improvement it will be. Guess will just "sweat it out" as the G.I. phrase goes. You asked about the air mail envelopes. I haven't received them yet but no doubt will before long. Think it was in your October third letter you asked me that, that's how my mail has been coming one from Mrs. Lynch yesterday was mailed Sept twenty third & one from Mae Wetherbee October twenty eighth. Thanks a lot for them, when I get 'em I don't need the money it saves but it is certainly convenient as our mail man doesn't always have them or I forget to order them from him. Sure was glad to get all that mail. Worked late again last night tried to nap for awhile after dinner but it seems hard for me
