Saving...
to catch forty winks like some people do. Consequently I'm kind of sleepy this afternoon but must work again tonight for awhile. Don't like these shortened days for there doesn't seem time to accomplish so much. I have just a touch of a head cold and have been snorting & blowing around for a couple of days but it is nothing serious and I don't think it will settle into my customary bronchitis. Just a result of some kind of nasty weather we had a few days ago. I'm glad Ernest Wendlands fire didn't spread any that is too close to the yard for any comfort. I wonder what could have started that expect it will be a little hard for him to replace his loss too, not financially of course but expect the poles are difficult to secure right now. How I'd liked to have taken that ride down to Clermont with you and seen all the oaks & maples in full color. I don't think there is anything that compares with the woods in the fall. I'll bet Grandmother didn't share your appreciation of the hills tho unless she has changed considerably. Must close for my plane is coming in Love Johnny Got your letter tonight saying you'd rec'd the money orders O.K. The Christmas pkgs. mailed Sept 16, also came, thanks a heap.
