Saving...
November 12, 1944 Italy Dear Dad & Mon: I've had lots of mail the past couple of days, several from you, and most everyone else I write to. Got three newspapers but still no package of air mail envelopes you sent so long ago, they'll turn up tho no doubt or perhaps some other John Graham is using them up. Whenever I hear of another by my name I think of the little brothers of the Graham boys I went to college with, it's quite a common name I guess. The mountains are now covered with snow and its been right chilly the past few days and after our warm weather which we've really enjoyed kind of like our indian summer back home. The fall wheat has a nice start in the patches I can see from our camp and they are busy scratching the fields you can scarcely call it plowing with one horse outfits. Got a letter from Bob, he is now in France and not so well pleased with his location as he was when I saw him. I gathered from one of your letters he was in Italy he sure does move around a lot. Rather envy him his travelling about but I expect it gets tiresome and monotonous. I'm not so keen on ocean travel, fear I'm not a very good sailor. Don't be surprised if this paper is kind of smudged up for we got some peanuts at P.X. this week & I'm lunching on them. Set them on the stove to freshen up a bit and scorched them a little. They are kind of like old maids in pop corn. They are those planters in tin cans. I'll go over some of the letters from you I've had lately and try and answer some questions. That's about the source of my letters for there's nothing original from here. Bill comes from Buhl Idaho, that's not far from Twin Falls
