Saving...
November 25, 1944 Italy Dear Dad & Mom: I've a couple of hours this afternoon so I'll try and make up for the days I've missed writing. As usual my work comes in spurts, never rains but what it pours and the past few days I've been up to my neck. Finally got caught up this morning bathed, shaved and got out of several layers of grease. Received my second Christmas package last evening, mailed September twenty ninth, thanks a lot for everything. Wish I had something to send home. Our Thanksgiving dinner was very good. We had most of the regular holiday dishes, turkey, real mashed potatoes (not dehydrated ones), dressing, peas, celery cranberry sauce, sliced pineapple and nuts & oranges. The cooks did a good job and everything tasted fine but it certainly wasn't the meal I had last Thanksgiving nor the surroundings weren't nearly so pleasant.
