walls but I noticed some are now being plastered with colored mortar like the Italian houses. Don't think I'd want to spend that much on such a temporary dwelling. I was sorry to hear about Russell but in his branch there is a much better chance of being found okay than in other branches. I surely hope so, he has done so well and likes his work so much. I've been opening my packages as they come and storing anything edible in the boxes and cans so the mice and rats don't get in them it would be a (illegible) day for them otherwise. The trouble is I'm about to run out of mouse proof containers. I expect by now you've had a snow in Iowa, your most recent letter said you'd been promised some and I reckon it's getting that time of year. Our stove is red hot and we're going to toast some marshmellows on it - Love Johnny
