Saving...
August 25, 1944 Italy Dear Dad, Mom & Grandmother: It is quite cool and pleasant here this morning. I have the sides of the tent rolled up and there is a nice breeze thru. Think I'll take a nap after a little for I worked quite late last night. We are to have Joe Louis appear on the base to day and put on an exhibition bout. may try and see him but it will probably come at the time I'm the busiest. I saw him once in the railway station at Omaha when I was coming home on furlough. I got two V-mail letters from you yesterday and the little package with the pencil leads. They were the right kind. thanks very much, the candy was fine too. Wasnt that a coincidence that Milan should get the same room as another by his name. seems like such an unusual one too. He should trace him down and see what his twin looks like. might be an awful shock tho. I've run into or heard about several guys with the same name as mine since I've been in. Just stopped long enough to mix up a refreshing ? drink of K ration orangeade which is if anything worse than the lemonade which is sufficiently awful that no one drinks it. I think maybe some of the manufacturers of various products being fed to soldiers might as well go out of business for they will surely be boycotted by the ex-G.I's when they get home. I treated myself to a store shave this morning which I really needed. Our Italian barber isnt so good as little Danny used to be but he can whack
