Saving...
[Backenstadts?] barn. That surely looks like a fine one, when that guy does something it isnt done half way. Got the paper with the clippings a couple of days ago. Say this war news is sounding good isnt it it seems like a big snow ball rolling down hill when it starts it picks up fast and grows bigger & bigger. The whole machine seems to really be clicking and everyone working hand in hand. I'm not even guessing when it will be over but save one of those jars of dill pickles you put up for me. Hope Harleys deal on the turkeys goes thru and you have a nice one for Christmas. Yesterday was P.X. day and it was a little meagre this week, everything we need I guess but not as much as usual. Had to take our guns with us for inspection. we are supposed to do that every week but once in awhile a fellow can slip thru without it. Believe there is nothing more to write - Love Johnny
