Saving...
Sept. 16, 1044 Italy Dear Dad, Mom & Grandmother: Got your good letter written the fifth and one from Lloyd & Arlene today. I was certainly surprised to hear about Bobs being back in the states again, how that boy does move around. I am really glad we had our visit and hope he gets home to see you all while he is there. Sorry you haven't been getting letters oftener they seem to bunch up on the way and I haven't been able to write every day. I don't think you need worry about what you mentioned for some time. It is cool here tonight, real fallish and the bed will really feel good. If nothing more these nights are good for sleeping but I don't like the looks of winter coming on. When you have all preparations for bad weather it isn't bad. One of the fellows has a funny looking bed in our tent. Today he bought a bale of straw and put the whole thing in his mattress cover, don't see how he will stay on top of it it's so round so firm so fully packed like the cigarette advertisement. They are having a show in our service club tonight, an Italian band and a couple of negro tap dancers from a guard squadron near by. Next week they are going to try and have a dancer, don't know whether it will work out or not. We are going to rebuild our shower bath, the past few days it's been a little airy. Think we can fix a building of stone building block around it and figure out some means of treating it, also will have to fix up a water
