Having such pleas and pretents as these, o men of lacedamon & allies, we revolted, clear enough for any one who will listen to us to judge how that we did it for good reason, & sufficient to alarm us & to drive us to take refuge with any one who would protect us, wishing to do so long ago when whilst the peace still lasted
