Receipts for making Blacking 1/2 lb. treacle --- 1 1/2 1/2 lb. Ivory Black---3 1 pt vinegar ---2 1/2 1/2 oz oil 1 1/2 pint of vinegar --- 7 1/2 1/2 lb. Treacle --- 1 1/2 1/2 lb Ivory Black --- 3 1 oz sugar candy --- 1 1/4 1/2 oz Oil Good for a Toe or Finger when the Nail is crooked or bad. A poultice of yeast and oatmeal.
