A Nice Soda Cake Take 1lb of Flour, 1/2 lb of Currants, 6 oz Plums 6 oz of Butter, 1 Egg, 1 teaspoonful of Carbonate of Soda, 1/2 pint luke warm Milk, 1 oz Candid lemon peel. Just wet your soda with a little warm Milk after well beating them, Mix them together. Mrs. R. Bardwells receipt I made this Cake December 23rd 1852.
