Gingerbread To three pounds of flour, add one of sugar and one of butter, rubbed in very fine, two ounces of ginger, a large nutmeg pounded, two ounces of candied orange and lemon peels, one ounce of carraway [sic] seeds, mix it well, & then warm a pound of treacle with a greater of a pint of cream, and make up the bread stuff with it, bake it on tins is a (illegible) oven.
