eggs well beaten, sweeten it to your taste. Just before you put it into the over, whip up the whites of the eggs, very well, and add [illegible]. A quarter of an hour will bake it no it wont. It needs to be served immediately when taken out of the over, or it will fall. - Lemon drops Beat the white of an egg to a very high froth with a quarter of a pound of sifted sugar, and the peel of half a lemon grated. Drop it on white paper the size of a [illegible]. You must remove them from the paper when baked, while hot, with a knife. [illegible] would not [illegible] paper [illegible] as for macaroons. Apple Jelly Peal & core [illegible] doz apples throw them into water to preserve their colors, put them into a pan with two quarts of water, & the rinds of 3 lemons, boil them to a pulp, strain them through linen 2 or 3 times, till quite clear, to every pint allow cup of sugar & the juice of a lemon, boil it 20 minutes. -
