Saving...
December 3, 1944 Dear Dad & Mom: Will try and write a bit before I drag in our yellow bath tub and take a bath. I've been helping dig a drainage pit for our new shower building. It promises to be a fine one when completed. I can scarcely write my hands are so cramped from handling a pick and shovel which I'm not used to, work like that would do me good however. Got your letter with the snapshots in tonight it certainly came thru in record time. Was glad to get the pictures looked very natural only Mom you should have had a smile on your face. Those (illegible) girls are surely nice looking kids. How they've grown up the three years Ive been away. Also had a letter from Grandma tonight which I couldnt read, tho I may be able to make it out in the day light. How her eyes must have failed since she last wrote to me. It's a shame for sure as much as she enjoys corresponding with her friends and it passed the time for her too. Ralph
