Saving...
December 6, 1944 Italy Dear Dad & Mom: I'm waiting to catch a ride up to get my P.X. rations so will write a bit. The fellows are all wondering about a proposed cut in cigarettes due to a shortage but that's one thing I don't have to worry about. It's warm today here been working outside without a jacket but had my wool sweater on under my coveralls. We are well equipped with clothes for most all kind of weather. One of the fellows in my squadron is getting married today, an Italian signorina. He's the only guy I've heard of making that step over here but he's Italian too and would no doubt have married one back in the states. There is an awful lot of red tape to go thru I understand. Got three v-mail letters from you folks last night. It was very nice of Mr. Dibble to remember you folks, I sent them a card several days ago. So Bob (Estery's?) have a daughter that's nice. Is he still a private? I am always amused when I read in the home town paper
