Saving...
December 10, 1944 Italy Dear Dad & Mom: Will write a bit while waiting for my bath water to heat. Got up early and did what work I had and now I have a few hours to myself. Should write about a dozen letters but don't expect to get that many done. Had a real treat this morning for breakfast, fresh eggs, I guess they were cold storage all right but they tasted good. Popped some of the corn Uncle Raymond sent me last night and it popped beautifully, it's that big yellow variety which is so large when popped. We bought a skillet from an Italian which works pretty well except it doesn't hold enough. Our tent is really full of candy and good things to eat, we should all be sick from the amount of sweets we've eaten but I guess all kids are ill this season. I've certainly fared well hope everyone is as lucky. It's gray and gloomy today, just a kind of wintry looking day. If I were home I'd think it was going to snow but it's too warm for that here. I've been quite lucky the past three years ducking the cold weather. Of course
