longer for it to go thru all the red tape it has to. That hundred bucks a month will count up in time and I don't miss it here for there's nothing to spend money on. I was quite amused at the letter you inclosed from the old fellow at Fredericksburg. Every so often you read of something like that happening but I'd never known of it so close to home. Did you remember the incident Dad? I've also received the letter in which Adeline's was sent. I do feel so badly about Bud and so sorry for them, don't know what to write, they seem so sure there will be other news. The uncertainty is the awful thing. In the card from Carroll's, (Bendale?) mentioned having gone down to see Milan off on the train so I presume he got his furlough. Hope you folks got to see him. Their card was mailed the eleventh and the last I've heard from you was the sixth so perhaps I'll find out soon. I'm sleepy - Love Johnny
