Saving...
January 1, 1945 Italy Dear Dad + Mom: The new year is starting off with a bang, at least the elements are celebrating for we're getting our first snow fall. Dont guess it will amount to much but its snow, the big loose fluffy kind. Only worked a couple of hours this morning, finished building up an engine and this afternoon we mounted a new fuel reservoir for our stove. Also fixed over our [illegible] rack for the pipe was touching the tent and it leaked. I was glad to hear that Adeline had news from [Budo?] friend that was a little encouraging. How I hope there is something to it and they soon get something official on it soon. It was might nice of the Lynch's to have you for Christmas dinner I know it was a good one, gosh I'd like to tie into one of her meals but I hope she doesnt overdo. Dave must have had a happy Christmas I know getting out of the army would be as good a present as a fellow could get. Had supper in the shack tonight, some Christmas package food + toasted sandwiches
