Saving...
January 7th, 1945 Italy Dear Dad and Mom: Just started this last night when the lights went out so I'll try again tonight. I'm sure my light won't go out tonight for I'm using a candle. Its raining a little so I'm very glad to be in by the stove and under a roof. We were lucky in getting a good tent for it hasn't leaked a little so far. Got a mail from you and a card from the pilot who use to fly my slings. He has completed his missions and was awarded a furlough. He's a fine fellow I certainly wish him luck when he start's flying around again. So Milan will fly b-17s he likes them, I rather he would get an twenty flights for I know once he told me I would like to get on them. at least he has some more training coming for while I'm glad. What are Ralph and Katherine going to Texas for? Just a trip or are they going to take their show? Poor Grandma wonder if she would enjoy going along in case she were invited. I don't reckon she could stand the trip anyhow. so she doesn't get so as she did back summer. I wrote to her a couple of weeks ago.
